3.0.0-*-server kernels boot with read-only filesystem both 12-gereric and 13-generic boot correctly, except the one which can be installed by manual package selection/aptitude during ubuntu installation process (linux-image-generic package, which installs 3.0.0-12-generic kernel). This one hangs at boot, only hard reset helps.
