Hi David, Sorry about my recent silence. At the moment, I have not been able to reproduce the error here (fortunately for me, unfortunately for everyone else). There do seem to be a lot of similar sounding bugs around though (TaffyDownUnder's bug, and the latest bug over at #881843), all resulting in paused printouts of various kinds. One thing I am sure of is that CUPS 1.5 seems extremely buggy at the moment.
