On my system (Thinkpad W510 laptop), something switched all audio output to HDMI during the Kubuntu Oneiric upgrade. This left me with no working sound, since I had no HDMI monitor plugged in.
To find and fix this, I used the KDE System Settings GUI: System Settings --> Multimedia --> Phonon --> Audio Playback Select Device Preference: "Audio Playback" Select Default Audio Playback Device: "Internal Audio Analog Stereo" Press "Prefer" until it is the First item in the device list. Press "Apply Device List To..."; (I chose every category) Press Okay Press "Test" -- works for me. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/862495 Title: [Oneiric] No sound after lock screen dialog (after upgrade to PulseAudio 1.0) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/lightdm/+bug/862495/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
