** Description changed: Binary package hint: network-manager I usually connect to a wifi access point which uses WEP encryption. Usually I can connect without issues. Sometimes the following happens, after disconnecting and trying to reconnect (for example (a) because I suspend my laptop and then resume; or (b) because I've moved to a place where the strength of the signal is not enough, casuing the connection to be lost, and then I come back to where the signal is excellent): - I try to connect - network manager's icon shows it is trying to connect, then a dialog pops up asking me for the key (which is already entered and is correct) but at the end it fails to connect - no matter how many times I retry, it always fails - then I REBOOT my laptop (not the router) and then it connects seamlessly at the first attempt (to the very same network, obviously). Rebooting SYSTEMATICALLY fixes the issue and allows me to connect, which is why I am reporting it as a bug. If there was some external reason (such as a problem with the router or with the signal strength) for not being able to connect, rebooting wouldn't fix it. Whatever it is that fixes the issue when rebooting, the system should do it without the need to reboot. When you disconnect and reconnect, nothing should be different from when you connect for the first time after a fresh reboot. I would be happy to provide any logs that can help investigate into the issue, but I don't know where to find them.
