A freshly installed Feisty Fawn. With the following info from iptables:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo iptables --list
Password:
Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

No firestarter installed.

When connecting to the VPN server fails. pptp plugin actually says it
fails.

There is nothing else likely to block VPN connection, a laptop with
Windows connects without any problems, the router (Linksys router) has
been configured to pass through any VPN connection (again, the laptop
with Windows XP can connect without a problem and can browse, terminal
serve, etc). On the Ubuntu system there is nothing that should block the
connection. I forgot to do a dmesg to see what the message in syslog
was, I will do this later.

A vanilla install without firestarter will not allow VPN outgoing
connections, it appears.

So, I hope I am not rude but I still do think the problem is with either
default IPTables or with the pptp plugin not configuring the system
properly.

Any suggestions?
