Am experiencing a similar problem in Feisty Final with my Transcend
T.sonic 610 MP3 player. Device connection is recognized and processed,
but Gnome does not reveal device or make an attempt to mount it. Player
can be mounted as vfat volume /dev/sda1.  Gnome does recognize and mount
other USB storage - specifically, three flash sticks and one USB hard
drive. See attached system output.
