Jut fixed broken package libc6-i686 using Synaptic and tried Update Manager again. It said i should upgrade the distro instead of the packages, so i do that. I don't see any apps i'm currently using in the list, so i keep this browser window open. "Upgrading Ubuntu to version 6.10"... this is confusing - should i have installed the updated packages before doing a dist upgrade? About 32 minutes remaining... why didn't it cache the downloaded files and just validate them with MD5 or such?
