I encourage those interested in this ticket to consider commenting on the upstream ticket, in the Gnome bug tracking system:

In that bug report, I offered to loan a developer an affected card so they can work on the issue, but so far none have responded to take me up on the offer. ( And Fionn: thanks for your alternate packages for Feisty.
