I also received the "Could not connect to wpa_supplicant - re-trying" message. At this point when I entered ap_scan 0, hit enter, then ctrl+c, my network stopped dropping. (Still, I may have performed a disservice by not testing a solution for several days before posting)
I took it for granted that the Intel card was using an Atheros chipset, I should have thought about this harder. Sorry to suggest this was only atheros/madwifi specific. I've since removed network-manager through synaptic since I only associate with one wireless network on this computer. All of the configuration settings were retained so I still connect to the network on boot-up. There have not been any drops/re-associates since doing this. (I realize I wouldn't see any balloon messages, but I don't notice any connection issues on the network or internet, as well as /var/log/messages being devoid of reconnect messages) -- Wireless network keeps reconnecting (ubuntu edgy) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/64173 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
