It seems that the fix released is actually stopping web pages in Urdu Fonts to display correctly in Firefox, Epiphany, Mozilla Thunderbird. However it does not effects Galeon.
When I tried Firefox after adding: MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=0 in /etc/environment It started rendering Urdu web pages perfectly. What does it mean? Well whatever it does, it is surely stopping a whole lot of people who read Urdu web pages using Firefox, seeing that their beloved web browser in Ubuntu doesn't display their language they would prolly switch back. another interesting thing that happened after trying this solution was that Galeon inherited firefox's behavior. -- Pango-enabled firefox is much slower https://launchpad.net/bugs/32561 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
