Hi, can you follow the steps described at "Boot Options" section from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelBoot page, and report back here where it's freezing? A picture with messages showing where it stops can help finding the problem.
When following the steps 4 and 5 from that page, it misses that you also should replace "set gfxpayload=$linux_gfx_mode" line with "set gfxpayload=text" on natty, to avoid it keeping the graphic mode ("purple screen"), so please do this change as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/813544 Title: new kernel won't boot on iMac To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/813544/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
