i am having the same problem with a recent install of 10.04 on a modified HP dc5100mt PC. it has a PNY 512mb 8400GS PCI graphics card and the latest nvidia 275.09.07 driver. i have tried several of the "fixes" posted on the ubuntu forms but nothing works. the PC will not shutdown. not even with shutdown -P 0, it always restarts. i am attaching the requested files for debugging purposes. i hope a fix is found soon, i am at my wits end with this one.
