Hi, I've got an Acer Aspire TimelineX 3830TG and have been silently following this thread. Great work, everyone, and thanks for all the tips!
I installed the Alsa Driver Modules from ubuntu-audio-dev-ppa-natty, as explained here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/InstallingLinuxAlsaDriverModules Then installed and ran the hda_analyzer in "snd-hda-tools" from ppa:diwic/ppa. Clicked on EAPD for 0x1b and voila! Audio works! :-) David, I tried your three items and here are my results: 1) Confirmed. HP on 0x19. 2) Confirmed working! :-) 3) Confirmed. Internal speakers are silent when OUT is deselected on 0x1f. Thanks for all the great work!
