Why? Is this your personal decision or opinion? This bug is backed by lengthy discussions in the ayatana mailing list. I'm confident the majority in the ayatana community would welcome 1) further discussing such changes and improvements, refining them, doing usability tests and so on and finally 2) rolling out such changes and improvements into the default Ubuntu experience
Unity is not a finished product, it has severe usability bugs. Those need to be fixed in the core product.
