What is this business about:

----8<----
Jun 16 19:28:46 htpc kernel: [ 186.431342] lirc_dev: module unloaded
Jun 16 19:28:46 htpc kernel: [ 186.441789] lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver
registered, major 250

`lirc_dev'
----8<----

You appear to have something still running (like that horrific xbmc
script) that is doing BAD THINGS.

I just tried to reproduce the problem here with a sane install, and the
mceusb driver suspends and resumes just fine when you don't do crazy
crap like trying to force-remove modules. Left an active session
running, spitting out key data received by the mceusb hardware, and it
picks up and keeps on working after a full suspend and resume cycle. As
far as I'm concerned, there's no mceusb driver bug here.
