UPDATE for ASUS X51: I have tried the Fedora 15 Live Image. The Freeze occurs as well in exactly the same manner.
Therefore, the follwing distributions are affectet (for my laptop): Debian (Squeeze) Ubuntu (since 10.04) Mandriva Fedora (15) The problem for me came with the upgrade to Ubuntu 10.04. from the previous version.
