I think that in e-book-backend-couchdb.c lines 760-770 have to be edited with some "if( x != NULL)" conditions, but I am not sure, I don't know much about this backend and couchdb (http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~vcs-imports/evolution-couchdb/trunk/view/head:/addressbook/e-book-backend-couchdb.c)
