oh sorry , I like to also add something else , since After Dapper, I cant read Video CDs in ubuntu with any player (I can play EVERYTHING except Video CDs) , another guy also had this problem... you can read about it here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=380953
that problem is so so Similar to this one , I think since "after dapper" there is something wrong with reading CDs in ubuntu.
