Michael, thanks for the information. Can you elaborate on how removing then reinstalling this kernel module (pl2303) works around the new kernel semantics. It doesn't seem like it should work if the problem is really with the hardware flow control of the device. So I'm wondering if there isn't still some problem with this driver that has been exposed by the new kernel semantics.
