OK. So it's libgl1-mesa-dri that's looking for the files in the wrong place. Xorg.0.log shows that Xorg loads them fine. Hence, "(II) AIGLX: Loaded and initialized /usr/lib/dri/i915_dri.so" but also, "libGL error: unable to find driver: i915_dri.so"
