Adding more comments here isn't necessary. It's a priority to fix, it's one of the top ten issues as far as the User Experience team is concerned, it just didn't have a clear solution for 4.0.
Personally, I care passionately about getting this fixed, and once 4.0 is out the door, this is a priority for the next release for me. It just didn't make the cut this time, which sucks — but it will be fixed eventually.
