Thanks for your reply! What happens when you remove the auto installed flag from conky-all with $ sudo apt-mark unmarkauto conky-all
It should cure the problem and probably helps you along for now. I tried to reproduce your problem locally and I couldn't: $ sudo apt-get install conky-all $ sudo apt-mark showauto | grep conky $ sudo apt-get purge conky-all $ sudo aptitude install conky-all $ sudo apt-mark showauto | grep conky With neither tool the auto installed flag was set. Can you please see if you can reproduce the problem and list the steps here? Thanks a lot. ** Changed in: apt (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/708803 Title: [Maverick] autoremove removes package which is required -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
