Reason I ask, this morning I was reading the release notes and this known issue:
Laptops using Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG experience reduced wifi speeds of the order of 1Mb/s. To see if your laptop uses this card, type the following: "lspci -v | grep 3945ABG".
