I think this is a bug in Firefox. It mixes and matches background and
foreground colors from random GTK components.

Try to make a rainbow theme that assigns the same hue (but different
lightness) to text and background of the same component and different
hue to standard/selection/prelight, ..

I bet Firefox will be very colourful then while GTK apps will generally
display the same text on the same background.
