@Jeroen: "<LOCAL MACHINE>" is what I got when I still had an entry for "Ubuntu One" in "preferences / passwords and encrypted keys" (inside the Passwords:login item). Deleting that (and probably the reboot but I didn't need to reboot my 2 other machines) unblocked me.
