hi, i have the very same problem with the above mentioned LG drive CH10LS20 only on 64bit ubuntu. my bios supports ahci/ide setting but neither of the settings make the drive recognized under 64bit. i also have 2 harddisks connected to the controller which work perfectly on both settings in 32 and 64bit
