Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gwibber
Gwibber seems to ignore mousover events in the are that displays the messages after you hover your mouse over an avatar in one of the displayed messages. What is supposed to happen: When the cursor hovers over a message the reply-icon should show up on the side of the post. Also, the cursor should change to a hand or a text selection symbol when over a link or text respectively. What actually happens: The icons on the side of the message only appear when you click on that message. The cursor symbol, too, does not change until you click somewhere. The cursor and icons also seem to update when you move the curser from outside the message area (i.e. from outside the Gwibber window, from the menu at the top, the sidebar on the left, or the text area at the bottom) into that area. If you do it fast enough you can make the symbols next to the messages appear. I guess Gwibber catches an event when the cursor enters that area, but fails to do so while it stays in there. I started gwibber from the shell and got the following output at startup: ** (gwibber:2541): WARNING **: Trying to register gtype 'WnckWindowState' as enum when in fact it is of type 'GFlags' ** (gwibber:2541): WARNING **: Trying to register gtype 'WnckWindowActions' as enum when in fact it is of type 'GFlags' ** (gwibber:2541): WARNING **: Trying to register gtype 'WnckWindowMoveResizeMask' as enum when in fact it is of type 'GFlags' Updating... Updating... /usr/bin/gwibber:68: GtkWarning: gtk_container_add: assertion `GTK_IS_CONTAINER (container)' failed gtk.main() But there was no additional output when the message area turned immune against mouseovers. I'm using Ubuntu 10.4 and gwibber 2.30.2-0ubuntu1. I'm using compiz, but switching all effect of in the system preferences (I guess that means a switch to metacity) didn't change anything. I also disabled gnome tooltips with "gtk-enable-tooltips = 0" in ~/.gtkrc-2.0 to deal with bug #356702. The only account I have set up in Gwibber is a Twitter account. Gwibber is usable with this bug, but it feels kinda broken and unresponsive, when the cursor doesn't change on its own anymore. ** Affects: gwibber (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Gwibber stops to react to mouseover events https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/651234 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
