Public bug reported: 10.10 Maverick Beta [25th September 2010]
Booting from either Desktop or Alternative fails unless ACPI=off is specified. As per workaround at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/612341, enabling ACPI=copy_dsdt allows the Ethernet card to work as well. I assume some sort of blacklist is in place to determine which hardware should boot with ACPI=off or other options. A video of the symptoms (on Lucid) can be seen at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOTKbrPkd94 The problem is still present in Maverick. If you need more specific hardware info, give information on what you'd like provided and I'll post it. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Maverick setup needs acpi=copy_dsdt on Toshiba Satellite C650D https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/647358 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
