Please remember, it's not just the "About Ubuntu" option in which garbage characters appear. The cubes appear in many Gnome application help screens. Examples: Nautilus, Gnucash, gCalctool, gedit, F-Spot, Simple Scanner and probably lots more since so many applications use yelp. Perfection can be carried too far, but I think we should do what's best for users: fix this even if it means delaying the final release.
