Yes, it is an audio-only file. We might need to try it with a "simple" video driver, not with nVIDIA nor ATI. It happened to me with "savage".
Maybe some updates happened meanwhile that could have possibly fixed it in the process. Everything was valid at the moment when I filed the bug. That Kubuntu install is not anymore on the laptop, as it was a serious show-stopper.
