Thanks for the suggestions but I already tried that and it didn't work,
at least nor for documents longer than a page.

If I wanted to print a 5 pages document, with the method you mentioned
above, I had to print one page at a time. I thought I should report the
problem with ubuntu as is "shipped" not with troubleshooting
modifications. It doesn't look good to me, with the default driver, no
printing; with modifications, one page at a time.

Should I post /var/log/cups/error_log with the modifications you
suggested? Would it be an hplip-cup bug?
