Sorry, I should have said which version. It's Zim 0.43, as packaged with Ubuntu Lucid. Am I going to have to compile from source - or is there a later version of Zim in a PPA? I try to avoid compiling from source if I can and try to stick to the Ubuntu repos on live systems because it means we benefit from automated security updates. But I'll make an exception for Zim if you think that's what I should do? To answer your other question, I do have some files that were imported from elsewhere - quite a common scenario I would have thought? In fact, quite a few of my older notes files came from a Windows system - written before I finally dumped Windows. I used to use Notepad, for taking notes! I was delighted when I moved to Ubuntu to find Zim, because it enabled me to file notes properly.
