The same bug here - Toshiba Satellite T130-14T (intel g4500) and Kubuntu 10.04 64 bit. With a chance of 1 out 5, notebook will stop booting right before kdm start. Usual splash screen is just shown (kubuntu with 5 stars). Ctrl-alt-del or power button function normally, so it is possible to switch off/on on reboot and to get to the desktop.
