For the record: I found the "uqcn.mbn" file in several of the numbered
directories in C:\Program Files (x86)\QUALCOMM\Images\Lenovo\ and took the one
which appeared the most up-to-date (that is, the one with the latest
last-modified date). Rebooted. Works! (Without having to explicitly load the
firmware after start up.)
I still don't know why it had been working with only two firmware files after
the first reboot but as long as it keeps working with all three of them I think
I won't investigate this further.
