Just to reiterate previously mentioned situation: Process got hung-up at the beginning of the "clean up" with 0% progress displayed and the message "linux headers removed". I killed the process and rebooted.. so far so good. I ran 'apt-get clean' from the console, which didn't show any indication of doing anything productive. So I'm guessing that there's still some house cleaning to do.... ?
