Hello, I'm also having these problems on and off. kacpid takes up to 80% and more, my temperature starts rising and reaches up to levels of 93°.
My system is an Asus laptop M6000 currently running Lucid Lynx Linux 2.6.32-22-generic Please help ..... (looked in my bios but did not find this feature) (when I put acpi=off, indeed the kacpid of course is not there, but after a while my hole system freezes) -- kacpid uses 100% of CPU.
