@Abraham Smith Can absolutely confirm this behaviour for amd64 version of Ubuntu 10.04 with kernel 2.6.34-rc7. Although usb devices (in my case a printer) seem to have no effect on suspend from what i can tell right now- i didn`t test usb hard-drives yet. The filesystem however seems to get not corrupted when suspend failed. Also after every hard reboot my network-applet showing my wireless-status is deactivated. I have to manually enable networking again. Don't know how this relates to the behaviour... I also get a freeze after running a pm-suspend from gdm login screen with "blinking moon" (with sd-card). Seems to be a kernel bug with some sort of module or module reloading, don't know how to trace this down...
