@Abraham Smith
Can absolutely confirm this behaviour for amd64 version of Ubuntu 10.04 with
kernel 2.6.34-rc7. Although usb devices (in my case a printer) seem to have no
effect on suspend from what i can tell right now- i didn`t test usb hard-drives
yet.
The filesystem however seems to get not corrupted when suspend failed. Also
after every hard reboot my network-applet showing my wireless-status is
deactivated. I have to manually enable networking again. Don't know how this
relates to the behaviour...
I also get a freeze after running a pm-suspend from gdm login screen with
"blinking moon" (with sd-card).
Seems to be a kernel bug with some sort of module or module reloading, don't
know how to trace this down...
