I found out what my problem was - I had entered the wrong password and
because Gwibber had tried so much, Twitter locked the account for a
certain amount of time. This probably meant that when I typed in
different passwords to try them it further compounded the problem, and
Gwibber gave no indication of an authentication error.

I found the problem in the Gwibber code, and have a patch attached,
though it doesn't really fix the problem properly - it only works for
really specific errors. Also, it doesn't differentiate between being
denied because of a wrong password and being denied because the account
is locked, although it does now show this in the log.
