Ok, upgraded my Ubuntu desktop 9.10 to 10.04 on my Toshiba NB100. Same problem, no pen-drives, usb disks or SD cards (internal reader, usb bus) show in thunar anymore. Packages pmount and usbmount not installed, hal is installed. Usbmount allows using everything in /media/usbX directories, but won't show in thunar.
Strange, as main goal for 10.04 was complete HAL removal (from boot), and in 9.10 there are lot of dependencies (in my system) for package hal, but in 10.04 only one: thunar-volman. And what is thunar-volman for? Ah, automatic management of removable drives and media...
