I believe we are dealing with 2 different bugs here. One in Ubuntu and one in Xubuntu. In Ubuntu I already have hald running at boot. The problem that Rami Autiomäki and I have occurs when there is a floppy controller but no floppy drive. Is it possible to split this off to a separate bug?
