** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: thunar

- Inserting any of my 3 usbsticks will not cause them to show in the sidepane,
- no directories in /media are created upon insertion.
+ Inserting any of my 3 usbsticks while loggedin as regular user will not cause
them to show in thunars the sidepane, no directories in /media are created upon
insertion.
Worked just fine before I upgraded from 9.10 to 10.04.

Mounting /dev/sdb1 on the command line shows the sticks work fine, the sticks
do continue to show up in thunar / automount fine in my other (not yet
upgraded) 8.04 and 9.04 systems.
I can see per dmesg and in /dev that the block devices for the usbstick get
created
- (and have correct permissions), the hald-addon-storage process shows up and
says its polling /dev/sdb every 2 seonds.
+ (and have correct permissions), the hald-addon-storage process shows up and
says its polling /dev/sdb every 2 seconds.
+ I tried with volume management / automounting either on of off in thunar same
result.

- Volume management is turned on in thunar, mount on hotplug & mount when
- inserted is checked in the configuration menu.
+ But when I start thunar as root (sudo thunar) the usbsticks *DO* show up
+ in the sidepane and even get automounted fine with volume management set
+ up accordingly in thunar.

I'd appreciate any hints to debug this further.

  Michael
