So far, none of the 3 screencasting programs I have installed will record sound: "XVidCap", "gtk-recordMyDesktop" and "Istanbul Desktop Session Recorder". However, the sound recorder "Audacity" works fine with my USB microphone - Audacity picks up the microphone and it sounds crystal clear.
I can't get the NES emulator for Linux "GFCE Ultra NES Emulator" to work with sound. If I turn off the sound in this program, it works fine. I've tried closing all other programs first, before running it with sound, to no avail. So by now, reading through these 35 comments, you see that some programs work with sound e.g. Audacity, playing YouTube videos with web browsers etc. and some programs refuse to work with sound. I don't think all the programs that refuse to work with sound will all have exactly the same bugs???? About Kega Fusion and sound on Linux: its author Steve Snake says it needs "very low latency sound" - I don't know what that means.
