Thanks for reporting this bug and makes ubuntu better.
I think this is due to your nvidia card doesn't support all compositing used by
clutter.
You should give a try to netbook-launcher-efl which will land in lucid
(there is some plan for some testing and launching the right launcher
version on UNE start for lucid).
As this is related to hw, I set the bug report as invalid. Do not
hesitate to report a new one if it's still slow on lucid with the new
launcher (not yet implemented).
