Under System->Preferences, you can go to "Preferred Applications" and select Banshee for your Multiimedia choice. This may let it automatically detect that you have inserted a CD. Anyway, this does help us determine where the fault lies. What will happen next in this bug report is that you will see a series of conversations by various programmers.
