finally.. this fixed it for me too, thanx!! After a clean install and upgrade on my new (Ubuntu) PC my harddisk suddenly was not found an more. Booted from Life CD, everything, disk, labels seemed ok, but no boot until I did put it the direct reference to my Linux partition.
