Thank you for this change.  I just did the Workaround you see below with your 
proposal #182 to rename it.
@ALL:
The following workaround you can type or paste and copy to your terminal:

Workaround:
# 1. 
# # go to synaptic and install guidance-power-manager
# #or
# # open terminal

sudo apt-get install guidance-power-manager

# 2.
cd /usr/bin
# # Rename gnome-power-manager
# # r...@pedro-netbook:/usr/bin# 

mv gnome-power-manager gnome-power-old

# # Rename guidance-power-manager to gnome power manager
# # r...@pedro-netbook:/usr/bin# 

mv guidance-power-manager gnome-power-manager

sudo reboot

# # enjoy till the next release of gnome-power-manager and many thx to @maxdata 
for the easy way :-)
# # !!! The youtube video is deleted !!!
