With options snd-hda-intel model=hp I *think* I have the correct sliders, with internal and external mic.
However the next issue I might have is probably related with KDE4 and the phonon-backend. When I use audacity or vlc, the alsamixer settings are not respected. Whathever I mute/unmute or change the mic gain level, the external mic is always working at the same level.
