I totally agree with Adrian. Configurable timeouts should be implemented in notify-osd. As long as "-t" option is present in notify-send (and it should be), the ball is in userland. It's sad to see it not being part of the specification. I don't want to add anything more. I'd be waiting for Adrian's fixes.
