Would it be possible, that the upgrade to 9.10 causes changes in the partition of the hard disk? After deleting the entire 9.10 disk and ext3 reformatting deeper analysis with testdisk reports warnings and some large unformatted sector. Strangely enough, the now external reformatted 9.10 disk keeps freezing my sytem, which now runs on 9.04 and never had froozen until the former 9.10 disk was mounted.
