That's fine and I hope digikam (an excellent application otherwise) also takes care of this issue but color me confused:
Why would you mount a PTP camera at all? Surely the backend should distinguish between cameras with usb mass storage access and those with ptp access and act appropriately i.e. only mount the camera in the first case... Am I missing something?
